CAUSE ===== Windows NT does not properly recognize the ATI display adapter on these systems. RESOLUTION ========== Modify the Windows NT registry so Windows NT will properly recognize the ATI display adapter on these systems. To make the appropriate registry modification for this configuration, do the following steps: WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide problems that may require you to reinstall Windows NT to correct them. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own risk. 1. Start the Windows NT Registry Editor (REGEDT32.EXE). 2. Select the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ati\Device0 3. Select the value ATIOEM, and then choose String from the Edit menu. 4. Replace the text "\SystemRoot\System32\drivers\atioem.bin" with "AST" (without the quotation marks). 5. Choose OK, quit Registry Editor, and then shut down and restart Windows NT. NOTE: This is a symptom of what is mentioned in section 3.13 of the README.WRI document for Windows NT.
